First Trailer for the Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Byzantium New Vampire Epic From Neil Jordan

It. Is. Here. The first teaser for “Catching Fire,” the highly anticipated follow-up to “The Hunger Games,” debuted during the MTV Movie Awards — and it’s far more than just a teaser.

Here, we finally get a look at the return of our champions, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), as they have now become a beacon of hope for the people of Panem. Obviously, this doesn’t sit well with President Snow (Donald Sutherland), who looks to turn the masses against them. This teaser also gives us our first glimpse at Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee.   “Catching Fire” hits theaters on November 22.

Byzantium is the story of Clara (Gemma Arterton) and Eleanor (Saoirse Ronan), who show up and seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara meets the lonely Noel (Daniel Mays), who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse. Eleanor, who appears to be 16, goes to school and befriends Frank (Caleb Landry Jones), a sickly classmate.

Despite the pact of silence shared by the pair, Eleanor reveals their lethal secret: they’re vampires, born 200 years ago and surviving on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequences.

With a cast that also includes Sam Riley, Tom Hollander and Barry Cassin, Byzantium explores the genre’s tropes from a distinctly feminine angle, giving us two vampires who must fight against prejudice from within their own ranks, since their fellow fang club members feel that it should be a brotherhood that excludes women. Eleanor, meanwhile, must also deal with being an eternal teenager.
