All Is Lost: Robert Redford is the very younger older man and the sea:

Robert Redford gets hit all alone in a wide wide sea by floating maritime junk, patches his boats, gets battered in a storm, makes a few SOS calls over his broken radio and then abandons ship in a plastic life raft, fights off sharks and shoots off flare to far far away ship, gets sunburned and develops a serious case of skin special effects that looks like adult onset acne– all without the aid of any Wilson to be his friend and need for soliloquy. Of course, off the chart blurbs punctuate all the action to give it the aura of a high minded true life adventure. All Is Lost opens October 18th.

It is not a Conspiracy theory until someone tries to kill you:

All the concerned talking heads, newspaper clippings, psycho ranting and occasional shadowy figures dressed in black who turn out not be Johnny Cash means that Conspiracy wants to be the Blair Witch Project of found footage action thrillers. If this leads to a group of old men other than the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost controlling everything I am not going to be impressed.

Diablo Cody gets you to Paradise via Sin City:

If you are going to be losing your faith after surviving a plane crash (the opposite of what happens to most survivors) and going to ease on that wicked wicked road to Sin City, Russell Brand and Octavia Spencer are good companions to have. Diablo Cody of Juno fame does the writing and first time directing honors. Opens on the same day All Is Lost (October 18), making them both a good double feature.
