Abstraction Gets a Tired Cast Sheet, Redwood Highway Wants to Start a Senior Movement, Bad Grandpa Gets a Child Tote

A tired poster with a tired cast in a tired movie about one last big art heist.
Redwood Highway has a 76-year-old woman (Shirley Knight) walk 80 miles through the most beautiful forests and trees in the world to see a sea she hasn’t seen in 45 years. Partly inspired by the director’s James Twyman’s mother Marie and the “Straight Story” , a David Lynch short which starred Richard Farnsworth as a World War II veteran who embarks on a journey across Iowa and Wisconsin on a riding lawnmower. Redwood Highway is doing the senior festival circuit, being shown at over 5,000 senior communities through a grant from the Senior Cinema Circle, an organization that Twyman founded. In an interview with the Park City Utah Park Record Twyman comments. “The reason we’re doing this is because there is a huge segment of the elderly community that isn’t able to get out to the theater, so we’ll bring the theater to them,” he said. “These are the people we’re making the film for and we want them to see it.” Redwood Highway opens wide September 8th, Grandparents Day.
Sometimes this is the only way grandparents can get their grandkids to go to a movie with them.
