Awesome Mondo 300 Rise of an Empire Poster Has Bloody Mortality All Over It– And How You Can Get It for Free!

Posted: January 27, 2014 in Movies

Frankly, I was getting turned off by the golden hue blood splotched battle and character posters that were being turned out by the 300: Rise of an Empire marketing crew on almost a daily basis.  They finally got smart and commissioned the poster geniuses at Mondo to do one– and it is pretty epic.  The person responsible for this beauty has decided to take cover behind an illegible signature which seems to read “Spartan”.  Just cool and multi-layered, particularly love the way the bloody Spartan mask echoes the tragedy icon.  This is my favorite poster released this year.

The poster was released  on the 300: Rise of an Empire Facebook page with a noted supposedly written by Lena Headley who reprises her Queen Gorgo role from 300.

“Hello, my friends, Lena Headey here. I was thrilled to return to the role of Queen Gorgo in 300: Rise of an Empire, and I’m excited to announce this incredible opportunity for you to catch 13 minutes of never-before-seen footage from the upcoming film, followed by a special fan screening of the original 300 movie. We’ll also be giving away the exclusive Mondo poster shown below to everyone who attends the 300 fan event. Stay tuned for more info on specific locations, timing and how to score tickets to join the battle.”

Keep watching the movie’s facebook page for date, time and venue details.

In addition to this fan event, Legendary Pictures has announced a giveaway through their Facebook page, where one lucky fan and a friend will win a trip to Los Angeles to attend the world premiere of 300: Rise of an Empire on March 4. The grand prize package includes two tickets to the premiere, round-trip flights to Los Angeles, hotel accommodations for two, an exclusive visit to Legendary Pictures’ headquarters, and a Legedary apparel gift card. All you have to do is “like” the Facebook page and enter your contact information for a chance to win. Winners must be available between Sunday, March 2 and Wednesday, March 5.

Mondo never fails to impress me with their posters, that in most cases are even better than the actual movie’s posters.
