The Art of Brian Reedy Captures Marvel and DC Superheroes in Their Most Wooden Moments

Superman

If you think that the Marvel and DC world is starting to look a little wooden, you might be right.  Brian Reedy is a Miami based artist who specializes in wood block prints.  His prints boil down superheroes to their rough essentials and stills find beauty in the silhouettes left behind.   To see Superman soaring eloquently rise  towards the sky over a Smallville cornfield or Aquaman save a floundering ship from a mystically huge octopus is to find the force of nature that gives every superhero and their comics their grace.   It makes them the natural reflection of a higher good projecting itself into our imaginations, thoughts and souls.

Each one is 12″x24″ woodblock printed on 20″x30″ rice paper with deckle edge. If you like what you see, you can purchase them in his Etsy store.
