Kirk Cameron Can’t Save Christmas from IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes Hell.

There are some things that deserve to be in Hell, and Christmas is one of them- Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas, that is.

Siting at the lowest spot on Internet Movie Data Base Bottom 100 Hades is the Cameron Opus with a 1.5 rating. The 5 films above it: Birdemic: Shock and Terror ( ironically starring Tippi Hedren of all actresses), the Bollywood Western Gunday, A Maltese revenge drama starring Joe Don Baker- Keloglan vs. the Black Prince, the Paris Hilton comedy- The Hottie & the Nottie and the Carmen Electra starring Disaster Movie.

The story is It’s A Wonderful Life rehash that has Cameron and his sister (played by actual Cameron sibling Bridgette Cameron) showing an actual Christian scrooge named Christian how to find the Christ in Christmas. That’s a lot of C’s flying around for a movie that got a perfect “0” rating on the review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes from the 12 critics not so blessed enough to have witness it. Christy Lemire noted that “It is The Room of Christmas movies. Actually, The Room is more enjoyable. But you get the idea.”

The critics rating is only half of the Rotten Tomatoes scoring system. The other half is the audience score. And there is where Kirk Cameron tried to create his own Christmas miracle.

In an effort to get Saving Christmas into the fresh zone Cameron urged all 1,960,847 of his Facebook followers to vote and “send the message to all the critics that WE decide what movies we want our families to see!”

For a few bright days the strategy work. Saving Christmas was obtaining a 94% fresh rating audience score. That is until the other 90% of movie-goers who also saw Christmas and internet trolls started voting.

“The haters and atheists are coming out of the woodwork, attempting to hammer your good work (they rallied to drop your rating super low),” Cameron wrote in a follow-up Facebook post.

The final tally of 32% fresh votes still places Saving Christmas in the thoroughly rotten category. It is still the lowest rated movie on IMDB.
